I offer a warm, individualized approach designed to meet each child’s unique needs. Taking a holistic view, I consider not only speech and language goals but also the sensory and social aspects that play into a child’s overall development.

Working with me means collaboration and empowerment. An important part of my work is equipping parents to learn and incorporate targeted language and strategies as essential to increasing and extending the child’s progress.

Therapy sessions are dynamic, engaging, and tailored to the child’s specific goals. Whether your child is just beginning their speech journey or needs support in refining their skills, I’m here to guide the process with patience and expertise.

What’s It Like Working with Me?

  • We are sensory beings. Sensory integration organizes and supports the nervous system, and this is especially true for children on the AU spectrum. An organized nervous system optimizes a person’s ability to learn and practice all higher level skills, including—but not limited to— speech and language.

  • Treatment takes place in a sensory motor room that offers multiple opportunities of engagement with “heavy work” and movement inputs. Though it does increase “buy in” with the children, the environment is not just built for fun! It is designed with intent to organize one’s nervous system. The frequency, duration, and intensity of sensory inputs are enfolded to match each individual nervous system.

  • Sessions generally last 1 hour, operating within the standard of 50 minutes of treatment and 10 minutes for parent interaction (questions, clarification, and/or collaboration).

One session a week is common; however, treatment intensives, such as one session per day over the course of a single week, are available as needed.

As therapy is personalized to each client’s needs, the amount of therapy needed varies. One of the benefits of prioritizing collaboration between myself as therapist and the child’s caregivers is the creation of space to frequently evaluate a child’s progress and plan together for their continued success.

  • In addition to speech therapy, I offer support for children who struggle with reading and decoding. I teach essential reading skills, including phonetic decoding and reading comprehension, to help children build strong literacy foundations that are critical for academic success.
